April 18th, 2015 - Chase Junghans Heads to Farmer City for Illini 100
1Chase Junghans made the trip to Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Illinois) over the weekend for the annual Illini 100.

The World of Outlaws (WoO) Late Model Series-sanctioned event drew a field of forty-eight entries on Friday night for a $6,000-to-win program. Just struggles in preliminary action, ultimately falling short of a transfer position and utilizing a series provisional to lock into the 25-lap main event. After starting 24th on the feature grid, Junghans went on to register a 26th place finish in the final rundown.

The weekend drew to a close on Saturday night with the $15,000-to-win, Illini 100 finale. Chase qualified fourth in his group among the forty-three entries and went on to win his heat race to lock into the redraw for the 75-lap main event. Junghans received the second starting spot on the feature grid, and took control from polesitter Shannon Babb on the second circuit. The duo raced side-by-side for much of the first 20 laps before Babb assumed the point once again on lap 22.

Junghans continued to run second until lap 27 when contact from third-running Kevin Weaver sent both cars spinning. Chase later brought out a second caution while running at the back of the pack and retired to a disappointing 21st place finish.

Chase is tenth in the latest WoO standings. Complete results from the weekend and the latest series' standings can be found at www.WoOLMS.com

April 9th, 2015 - Living Life: The Junghans Family
1 Parked side by side in the pits at USA Raceway (Tucson, Arizona) to start the 2015 racing season in early January, the Junghans family seems to have quite the life. Two talented young drivers in the stable with brothers, Chase and Grant. Nice haulers and nice equipment for both competitors. Best of all, a loving family and great friends surrounding them to enjoy the week of racing festivities in the warm sunshine. Rick Schwallie Photo

Sounds like a charmed life, right? From the surface, most definitely. However, a look into the backstory of what the Junghans family has endured over the past decade tells you so much more. It tells you why moments like these are so very special to these residents of Manhattan, Kansas.
