August 9th, 2016 - Chase Taking Part in Brothers Memorial Event
aChase Junghans will not be in action at this weekend’s World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series events on the East Coast. In addition to having a broken generator on his hauler, the driver is busily preparing Modifieds for himself and Shane Clanton to race in the inaugural Grant Junghans Memorial on Friday, August 19 at Lakeside Speedway (Kansas City, Kansas). The race salutes his late brother, who passed away earlier this year after a heroic battle with cancer. Chase always enjoys racing out East and hates that he will not get to see a lot of his fans this weekend. He definitely looks forward to seeing them, when he returns to that area in 2017.

Receiving the 6th-starting position after the redraw, Chase Junghans fell back to a 16th place outing after getting caught up in a tangle-up on lap 19. (Shawn Fredenberg Photo)

Sending the top three out of the heats on Friday night, Chase registered a 6th place finish sending him into the B-Main on Saturday. Falling one spot short of a transfer position into the main event, Junghans used a provisional to make the $50,000-to-win A-Main. Gaining twelve positions in the 100-lap affair, Chase Junghans reeled in a 16th place outing.
