Junghans attends Last Call at Charlotte, finishes fifth in WoO point standings
With Covid-19 restrictions forcing the postponement of the Can-Am World Finals to 2021, Chase Junghans was one of 55 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series entries on hand at the Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, N.C.) on Wednesday night for the Last Call. Following the sixth fastest lap in his time trial group, Junghans posted a runner-up finish in his heat behind Brandon Sheppard, which positioned him 12th on the starting grid for the opening night feature. With $12,000 on the line, Chase faded three spots in the 50-lap affair to register a 15th place outing. (Michael Boggs Photography)
The following night for another $12,000-to-win A-Main, Chase came in fifth in his heat before placing third in his B-Main. Relying on a provisional into the finale, Junghans was an early retiree from the 50-lapper on lap 24.
He wrapped up the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series in fifth in the final point standings.
