Junghans scores third place finish in World of Outlaws stop at Lavonia Speedway
On Friday evening Chase Junghans was one of 27 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series entries on hand at Lavonia Speedway (Lavonia, Ga.) for the Charlie Size Memorial. Clawing forward one spot in his heat race to finish third, Junghans locked into the ninth-starting position for the opening night feature. With $10,000 on the line, Chase passed six cars in the 50-lapper to place third behind Brandon Overton and Dennis Erb Jr. with Ricky Weiss and Zack Mitchell completing the Top-5 finishers.
The following night at Lancaster Speedway (Lancaster, S.C.), Chase secured his spot into the $10,000-to-win A-Main with a fourth place finish in his heat race. Rolling off 11th, Junghans gained four spots in the 50-lap affair to register a seventh place finish.
Sunday night saw Junghans stop at Beckley Motorsports Park (Beckley, W.Va.) for the Beckley USA 100. Earning the fourth-starting position for the $15,000-to-win A-Main via preliminary events, Chase blasted past polesitter Steven Roberts for the lead on the fifth lap and led the next 30 circuits until suffering a flat left-rear tire. Pulling off for good on lap-55, Junghans was credited with an 11th place outing.
