Chase Junghans
Pair of Top-10 finishes with World of Outlaws at Cedar Lake
Chase Junghans made the trip to Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wis.) on Thursday evening piloting his Junghans Discount Liquor No. 18 Late Model for the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series sanctioned program. With the 24-car field taking part in a time trial session in an attempt to lock into the $3,000-to-win Elimination Showdown, Junghans recorded the 18th fastest time, sending him into the B-Main. Picking up a consolation victory, Chase locked into the preliminary showdown that featured three 5-lap segments that would eliminate four competitors each round, then conclude with an 8-lap shootout. Failing to make it out of the first segment, Junghans posted a 17th place outing. (Jacy Norgaard photo)
The following night, Chase secured his spot into the $20,000-to-win A-Main with a fourth place finish in his heat. Jumping up two spots in the 40-lap affair, Junghans recorded a 10th place finish.
On Saturday evening for another $20,000-to-win feature, Junghans scored a fifth place finish in his heat, which positioned him 13th on the starting grid for the finale. Breaking into the Top-10, Chase passed six cars in the 40-lapper to place seventh.
