Top 10 Finish in Second Round of Dirt Late Model Stream
Chase Junghans was one of 48 Late Models invited to Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Thursday evening for the Dirt Late Model Stream Invitational after the 26th annual Dirt Late Model Dream was postponed to 2021. After falling one spot shy of a transfer position in his heat race with a fifth place finish, Junghans grabbed the third and final transfer position in his B-Main. On Friday afternoon for another $10,000-to-win preliminary feature, Chase laid down the tenth fastest time overall in qualifying before placing second in his heat behind Donald McIntosh. Receiving the second-starting position for the A-Main via the redraw, Junghans dropped seven spots in the 30-lapper to place ninth.
Sitting in ninth overall in preliminary points on Saturday afternoon, Junghans locked into the third-starting position for his heat race. Sending the Top 4 into the $50,000-to-win Dirt Late Model Stream Invitational, Chase came one spot short with a fifth place finish. Rolling off on the pole of his consolation event, Junghans cruised to a 15-lap B-Main victory, which positioned him 19th on the starting grid for the finale. Advancing forward six spots in the 67-lap affair, Chase Junghans notched a 13th place finish.
