10th-place finish in World of Outlaws Opener at VSP
On Monday evening Chase Junghans was one of 49 DIRTcar Late Models on hand at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida) to kick off the 49th annual DIRTcar Nationals. After falling shy of a transfer position in his heat with a 7th place finish, Junghans came one spot shy of a transfer spot in his B-Main with a 3rd place finish.
Following the seventh fastest time in his qualifying group on Tuesday, Chase posted a 6th place finish in his heat, giving him one more shot at the $7,000-to-win A-Main with a B-Main appearance. Failing to place 2nd or better, Junghans was granted a provisional into the main event. Improving nine spots in the 30-lap affair, Chase Junghans recorded a 17th place outing.
On Wednesday afternoon as 51 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series entries invaded, Junghans grabbed the 3rd and final transfer spot in his heat which positioned him 14th on the starting grid for the A-Main. With $10,000 on the line, Chase gained four spots to place 10th.
For the fourth round of the 49th annual DIRTcar Nationals on Thursday, Junghans fell two spots short of a transfer position in his heat race with a 5th place finish. Picking up a 10-lap consolation victory, Chase locked into the 20th-starting position for the A-Main. Improving two spots in the 40-lap affair, Junghans logged a 16th place finish.

Wrapping up the 49th annual DIRTcar Nationals on Saturday evening, Chase followed up a 5th place finish in his heat race with a runner-up spot in his B-Main behind Brian Shirley. Jumping up two spots in the 50-lap feature, Junghans logged a 17th place finish.
