Double Dreams brings Chase Junghans to Eldora
Chase Junghans made the trek to Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Wednesday afternoon to kick off four nights of racing with the 27th annual Dirt Late Model Dream. With the 74-car field split into two separate groups for a pair of preliminary features, Junghans recorded an eighth-place finish in his heat, sending him into the B-Main. With preliminary results on Wednesday setting the grid for heat races on Thursday evening, Chase came in eighth in his heat, giving him another shot at the $127,000-to-win Dirt Late Model Dream with a B-Main appearance. He fell short of a transfer position but passed six cars in the 20-lapper to finish seventh. He earned a spot into one of two scrambles but failed to transfer into the main event.
For another round of preliminary features on Friday afternoon, Junghans edged his way into the $10,000-to-win A-Main with the fifth-and-final transfer spot in his heat race. He was an early retiree from the 25-lapper on the fifth lap.
Starting in eighth in his heat on Saturday afternoon, Chase recorded a fifth-place finish, sending him into the B-Main for one last chance at the $126,000-to-win Dirt Late Model Dream. Locking in the Top 3, Junghans slipped back to a ninth-place outing.
