Hawkeye 100 brings Junghans to Boone Speedway

Friday night saw Chase Junghans return with the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series at Boone Speedway (Boone, Iowa) for the Hawkeye 100 weekend. With time trials setting the grid for the first of two preliminary features, Junghans timed in 23rd fastest overall. Improving four spots in the 25-lap affair, Chase recorded a 19th-place finish. Starting the second $3,000-to-win preliminary feature in 19th, Junghans dropped two spots to register a 21st-place outing.

On Saturday with qualifying times and heat results aligning the field for the $30,000-to-win Hawkeye 100, Chase posted a sixth-place finish in his heat, which positioned him 18th on the starting grid for the show. Running into trouble early, Junghans was the first retiree of the race on lap 52.
