With the 124-car field split into two groups for a pair of $12,000-to-win preliminary features, Chase followed up sixth-place finish in his heat race with a 15-lap consolation victory. Inching forward five spots in the 25-lap prelim, Junghans recorded a 17th-place finish.
Later Thursday night for heat races leading up to the Eldora Million, Junghans passed four cars to finish fourth, relegating him into the B-Main for another shot at the $1,002,022-to-win A-Main. Needing to place second or better, Chase logged a seventh-place outing.
On Friday as the 28th annual Dirt Late Model Dream got underway with a pair of prelims, Chase came in sixth in his heat before placing second in his B-Main. With $12,000 on the line in the feature, Junghans gained six positions in the 25-lap affair to finish 18th.
For the weekend finale on Saturday, Junghans eighth-to-fourth run in his heat race transferred him into the B-Main for one last chance at the $128,000-to-win Dirt Late Model Dream. Locking in the top-two, Chase came one spot short with a third-place finish.
