Chase Junghans scores sixth-place finish at East Bay Raceway Park

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) was back in action on Monday evening at East Bay Raceway Park (Gibsonton, Fla.) with Chase Junghans and 69 competitors entered for the Wrisco Winternationals. On Wednesday evening after Mother Nature axed Tuesday’s program, Junghans followed up a fourth-place finish in his heat with a 10-lap consolation victory. With $7,000 on the line in the 40-lap main event, Chase was an early retiree on the 12 circuit.

For another $7,000-to-win A-Main on Thursday, Chase logged an eighth-place finish in his heat race, sending him into the B-Main. Locking the Top 2 into the show, Junghans gained seven positions but missed a transfer spot by one position.

The following night, Junghans clocked in fifth-fastest in his group before picking up a heat race win over Kyle Bronson. Starting the feature in third, Chase held the top spot in different stints in the 40-lapper but ended up sixth when the checkered flag flew.

To wrap up the week-long Wrisco Winternationals on Saturday, Chase secured his spot into the $15,000-to-win finale with a consolation victory after placing fourth in his heat. Starting in 19th, Junghans was an early exit from the 50-lap affair on lap 35.
