Making his DIRTcar Summer Nationals debut on Wednesday night at La Salle Speedway (LaSalle, Ill.) for the 13th stop of the Hell Tour, Junghans posted a runner-up finish in his heat behind Tyler Erb, which positioned him seventh on the starting grid for the main event. With $5,000 on the line, Chase charged forward two spots to place fifth behind Brian Shirley, Tyler Erb, Dennis Erb Jr., and Shannon Babb.
Returning with the World of Outlaws on Friday, Chase headed to Kokomo Speedway (Kokomo, Ind.) for the two-day Hoosier Dirt Shootout. With 32 cars on hand for the event in place of the Prairie Dirt Classic, Junghans secured his spot into $2,500-to-win preliminary feature with the fourth fastest time in his qualifying group. Jumping to the high-side late in the 25-lapper, Chase landed a third place finish behind Brandon Sheppard and Ricky Thornton Jr. with Tyler Erb and Mike Marlar rounding out the Top-5.
On Saturday night with the Top 3 finishers from each preliminary feature getting locked into the redraw, Junghans pulled the second-starting spot for the $25,000-to-win Hoosier Dirt Shootout. After Mother Nature postponed the 75-lapper to Sunday afternoon, continued rain overnight forced officials to postpone the finale to a later date.
Chase is currently fifth in the latest World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series point standings. For more results from these events, please visit www.WoOLMS.com and www.DIRTcarSummerNationals.com.
