Junghans records 12th-place finish in USA Nationals prelim
Chase Junghans’ stint with the World of Outlaws (WoO) Case Late Model Series continued over the weekend with a visit to Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wis.) for the 37th running of USA Nationals.
With wet weather shifting Thursday’s preliminary to Friday afternoon, Junghans scratched from his consolation race after the recent rainfall led to rough track conditions.
Later Friday night, Chase backed up a fifth-place heat finish with a fifth-to-first run in his B-Main. Chasing a $6,000 payday in the final preliminary feature, Junghans advanced seven more positions to place 12th.
On Saturday, Junghans bid for the $50,000-to-win USA Nationals finale ended with an eighth-place finish in his LCQ.
